90-ball bingo for pubs and venues
Get the room ready before the first call.
Use this checklist for a practice run with a host device, venue TV and two player phones. Confirm access and check the whole experience before inviting the public.
What you need
- A host laptop or tablet with a browser, reliable internet and power. Sign in through Host HQ and check that Bingo access is active.
- A TV or projector that can show a browser page. Open the venue screen on a connected device and make sure the code and numbers are readable from the room.
- Player phones with internet access. Test the venue’s Wi-Fi and available mobile signal where guests will sit.
- A planned caller-audio device with suitable volume. Test sound before the room fills up, and avoid playing the same calls from two devices.
You do not need a player app download. Tell us roughly how many people you expect when requesting your trial.
Run a two-phone rehearsal
- Open app.hostmybingo.co.uk. Sign in through Host HQ and create the Bingo room.
- Choose the format: one line, full house or line then house. Check the venue name, card-price display and prize information.
- Open screen.hostmybingo.co.uk on the venue display. Enter the four-digit code from the host controls.
- Join two phones using the room QR code or play.hostmybingo.co.uk. Enter the code and a different name on each phone.
- Check five cards appear on each phone. Try the numbered tabs, call a few numbers and check that both phones and the TV update.
- Enable caller sound on the intended device and check its volume. If sound does not start, tap its sound-enable control and check the browser and device volume.
- Continue the practice game to a winning claim. Check the host confirmation and TV announcement; test line-to-house continuation if that is your format.
- Start the next game in the same room. Check the same players receive fresh cards and understand that marks and paid status reset.
Give players a short introduction
“Scan the QR code or open the player website. Enter the four-digit code and your name. You have five cards; use the numbered tabs to switch. Tap numbers as they are called. Marked numbers stay marked. Claim your line or house when ready, then wait for the host to check and confirm it.”
Explain the winning format, any entry charge and the prizes before play. Those arrangements are handled by the venue.
Keep the host device ready
Keep it powered, online and within reach. When using automatic calling, keep the host tab visible; calls stop if it is hidden or loses connection. Pause when guests need time or a connection issue needs attention.
Keep the room code available. Resolve problems in the existing room before making a replacement room during a live event.
If something needs attention
A phone refreshed or lost signal
Reopen the same player link on the same phone and browser. Check that its existing cards return. Avoid creating a duplicate player while investigating.
The TV needs pairing again
Open the venue screen and enter the current room code. Check it matches the host’s room before resuming.
The caller audio did not start
Tap the sound-enable control, check device volume and test again. Browsers can require a tap before audio playback. Confirm only the intended device is playing calls.
The host lost its connection
Stop calling until the host reconnects and its displayed room state is current. Check the TV and test phones are following the same called numbers before continuing.
After your first trial
Record setup time, approximate participation, joining or sound problems, support needed and whether you plan another event. These observations help prepare the next night. Agree permission separately before sharing a venue name, photo or quote.
